Mountain Facts
Killington Resort, located in central Vermont, stretches across seven mountains with 200 diverse trails and 31 lifts. Killington averages 250 inches of natural snow each winter. That, coupled with the country’s most extensive snowmaking system, supports the longest season in the eastern North America and one of the longest in the entire country typically lasting from October to June. Killington is known for its’ diversity of terrain offering skiers and riders of all ability levels a choice of wide open groomed cruisers, narrow classic New England runs, moguls, steeps, trees and several options for snowboarders including 5 alpine parks including The Beach and the halfpipe.

Killington’s 19 vehicle Stealth Grooming Fleet grooms 50-80% of open terrain on a nightly basis. We also have numerous trails that are left bumped up for the mogul enthusiasts including Outer Limits--the steepest mogul slope in the East
The Best Cross Country Skiing
Two of the best cross country ski resorts in America are here: Mountain Meadows Ski Touring Center and The Mountain Top Inn & Resort Cross Country Ski Center. Both are within minutes of Killington, and both feature great facilities, snowmaking, expansive terrain, lessons, rentals and snowshoeing.

For a single day of skiing and rental the fee would be (1.) $17.00 for trail pass and (2.) $17.00 for rental. Any additional day would be $14.00 trail pass and $14.00 for rental. Therefore $34.00 one day and $28.00 for multi day. Price includes taxes.


The Mountain Top Inn Cross-Country Ski Resort

Eleven miles from Killington, 85+km of groomed trails and skating lanes at 2,000 ft. Ski School (with private or group lessons) run by Mike Gallagher (former Olympian and Olympic Cross-Country Ski Coach) and Don Cochrane (former US Biathlon Ski Team member), snow making, ski shop, snack bar. Full-day ski or snowshoe pass: Adult $16; Student/Senior $12; Child $6. Ski and snowshoe rentals; half-day rates available. The Mountain Top Inn & Resort features full hotel, dining and resort facilities.


Great Snowmobiling
Snowmobiling is another popular activity, with several companies that offer rentals, guided tours, and lessons. The majority of the State of Vermont is connected by a huge network of maintained snowmobiling trails that offer beauty, excitement and challenge. Snowshoers
Call Killington Snowshoe Tours, at 1-800-767-7031 for more information and reservations, located at Beattie's Trailside Lodge Rt. 100 N., Killington VT or Killington Resort,. Or Snowshoe Rentals at Oasis Sports (802 775-1273) located on 103 in N. Clarendon Vt. The Mountain Top Inn & Resort offers snowshoeing on hundreds of acres of pristine backcountry. Rental equipment and full and half day passes are available.
Ice skating
Available at Killington Resort, Summit Pond at the Grist Mill, Proctor Town Skating Rink, Giorgetti Park in Rutland and the Mandigo Arena in Rutland. The Mountain Top Inn & Resort offers ice skating for guests of the Inn.
Sleigh Rides

Scheduled rides will be on Wednesdays and Saturdays, New Years Eve, Valentines Day plus additional rides will be reserved from time to time. We anticipate that rides will start in mid November. Each ride will last approximately 15-20 minutes at The Cortina Inn - 802-773-3333.

The Mountain Top Inn & Resort offers sleigh rides drawn by a mother-daughter team of Belgians daily at 5, 6, 7 & 8PM. Fees are $20 per adult and $15 per child. Call 802-483-2311 or 800-445-2100 for more information.


Ice fishing
Pick any one of the local lakes and you'll find ice fishing opportunities. Use caution. You go at your own risk! Check with local sporting goods suppliers or the Fish & Wildlife Agency (802-241-3700) for advice and information.
